Changes to Student Employee Email Accounts

Student employee email accounts will be changing effective immediately. All student worker email accounts can no longer be provided directly by SAIT and will now be processed individually by UITS on request by SAIT. SAIT will continue to collect and initiate requests for student email accounts on behalf of the Division of Student Affairs. Please note the following:


  • Be prepared for a wait time of 1-3 business days for new student worker email account creations. We suggest submitting requests at the time the student is filing new hire paperwork to ensure the process is expedited.
  • Students that are employed by more than one department will have one email account across those jobs. This is consistent with how staff accounts are handled. Employers should be advised that students with multiple campus jobs will have email data shared within this account.
  • The format of email addresses will change. “StudentXXXX” will be replaced by “netidwork”. The new email addresses will look like: “” – No more “”
