Office 2016 Upgrade FAQ
What’s the difference between Office 365 and Office 2016?
Office 365 is a subscription service that includes the most recent version of Office, which currently is Office 2016. It comes with the applications you’re familiar with, like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The University provides this subscription to all faculty, staff and students. Visit the Office365 website to log in and learn more >
Office 2016 includes Microsoft business software installed on your computer on a one-time basis. This software can interact with cloud services in Office 365 which allows you to access your work from any computer. For example: create a file in Word, then save it to OneDrive — this file is now available online for you to access and edit from another computer when you log into Office 365.
